Improving Connectivity in Louisiana

PURPOSE & SCOPE

The proposed project is a connector road to link LA 1 with LA 415 at I-10, west of the Mississippi River Bridge. A new bridge will span the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, relieving congestion on LA 1. The LA 415 Connector provides a new system linkage within West Baton Rouge Parish, serving as an additional evacuation route to the interstate system.

Aerodynamics & Propulsion

Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) letter issued by FHWA, allowing project to proceed.

2022/23

Initial NEPA Reevaluation completed and approved to address early design changes.

2023

Commitment of TIFIA loan funds from US Dept. of Transportation to partially fund the project.

2023

Notice of Intent released by DOTD requesting Letters of Interest for the CMAR Contractor to deliver the project. Engineering design begins.

2026

Design refinements continue, addressing physical and financial
constraints. Reevaluation #2 documentation preparation and submission to FHWA.

2026/27

Anticipated start of construction

2029

Anticipated substantial completion of Connector
